AGAPE works hard throughout the year to provide our foster parents with needed and relevant training. Our parents were recently able to be trained in Trust Based Relational Intervention [TBRI] Connecting Principles.
These principles help our foster parents gain knowledge and insight about secure attachment. Participants were able to gain awareness about their own attachment history, learn ways to build secure connections to children from hard places, and learn strategies to empower children with behavioral tools.
Through trainings likes these AGAPE hopes to show those investing in children from hard places that deep investment yields deep connection, trust, and relationship.
While our foster parents were being trained AGAPE’s kids were able to do what they do best, play! Kids of all ages enjoyed playing board games, making crafts, building with Legos, playing dodgeball, and much more.
This even was hosted by The Grove. The Grove graciously opened up their facilities to AGAPE and provided excellent helpers to play with and invest in our children! We are truly grateful to The Grove for making this event a success.
